A highly sophisticated hydrophilic waterstop

Hydrotite is a Japanese brand name for a state-of-the-art hydrophilic waterstop with unmatched durability and water sealing capacity.

​

It is 100% made in Japan and is engineered to stay firm and intact under repeated and prolonged wet-dry cycling.

  • Hydrotite CJ-1020-2K and Hydrotite CJ-0725-3K are designed for sealing construction joints internally in cast-in-situ concrete where limited access restricts the use of conventional waterstops.

  • The waterstop is unique in the market in sense that it is a combination of (expanding) hydrophilic materials and (non-expanding) chloroprene rubber co-extruded together to form a single preformed strip.

    • The hydrophilic materials are engineered with the controlled expansion properties.  This controlled expansion means that it will neither cause spalling in structure nor let the waterstop be expanded to a point at which itself get destroyed.

    • The hydrophilic materials will gradually expand in the presence of moisture and will return to its original size if there is no more water or moisture present.  It will then re-expand when water or moisture is again introduced to the joint.  This repeated wet-dry cycling will not affect the functioning of the waterstop.

    • Noted for its long-term durability, the chloroprene serves to reinforce the hydrophilic materials to make it firm. The hollow core design can absorb some of the expansion pressure and thus prevent concrete from cracking due to high expansion pressure.

  • The waterstop is free from bentonite.

  • The waterstop is treated with a delay coating that serves to delay premature expansion by rain or ground water during installation, and water from freshly poured concrete during the curing process.

  • The waterstop has a service life of 120 years.

  • The waterstop can support 150m heads of water.

  • The waterstop meets BS 6920 requirement for use in contact with potable water (WRAS approved).

  • Hydrotite CJ-1020-2K can fulfill the requirement of G.S. Clause 21.2.20 and MTR M&W Specification Clause 8.1.
